Turn the Water on 4 OSEWAN!

DONATE
Water is Life Kenya (WILK) launches a virtual fundraising campaign for our newest clean water project “Turn the Water on for Osewan!” The Osewan community has been on the WILK waiting list since 2014. The campaign’s goal for April is to raise $40,000 to help jump-start this project (total cost is $80,000).  Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the need to cancel in-person events, we are promoting and raising funds via social media with our fans and by weekly email blasts to our supporters. In addition to this, every Friday night at 7PM Eastern, Founder Joyce Tannian greets and updates our supporters on Facebook Live. To watch WILK Live show visit: https://www.facebook.com/WaterisLifeKenya.  Previous episodes can be found here.  Take a moment to listen to our board member, Michael Warui, share how the Kenyans feel about the work we do there.

“Our work doesn’t stop and can’t stop now. Osewan people need us now, more than ever...finally it’s their turn! People have been trying to live in Osewan for a long time, but can’t.

The area is very dry. It has ample pasture, but no water for cows or people.

We want to make sure people in that area have enough clean water for themselves, for their families; enough water so they can build a school and build a hospital.”

- Joyce Tannian, Founder & Director

Fundraising Goal: $40,000
Raised to date: $28,002.00 (70% of Goal)

It all starts with clean water. Looking at our process on the right, it may seem a bit complicated but the steps and time it takes to make each project successful ensures the communities are properly prepared to handle something as big as a public works entity.

Keep tabs on where this project is simply by stopping by often and watch the progress the community and Water is Life Kenya are making as we take on each and every challenge to turn a dream into a reality for these people.

What Our donors Are Saying

After ten years of financial support, with countless follow-up reports, conversations, photos and video clips, we made a site visit to Water is Life Kenya's Amboseli operations in late November, 2018.  The visit - and our assessment of the organization - well exceeded our expectations.
                                       --  Mandy Cabot, owner, Dansko

A few years ago, a friend invited me to a church dinner where a Water is Life Kenya speaker gave a presentation.  It changed my life.  Intrigued, I wanted to know more.... I have since donated and visited Joyce in Kenya three times with my family.
