Livestock as a Business Group 2018-2019

Highlights: We celebrated the first LAB graduation ceremony for 4th year groups in November. We welcomed donors visiting from the US, community members and community leaders. It was a powerful witness to the achievements of the graduating groups who showed that had applied improved livestock keeping practices. We awarded prizes of breeding rams to the 2 graduating groups: Amboseli Ilmarba Livestock Keepers, and Oshumu Livestock Keepers.

Group Info:
·       Ilmirishi Lorngosua Men’s Group – 12 young men, all with young families, keen to learn how to make their Maasai tradition of livestock keeping as beneficial for their lives as possible. They took the initiative to organize periodic vaccinations for their group and individual animals.

·       Ilaretok Loolakir Men's Group -21 men of different ages, very eager to learn, knowledgeable, motivated, eager to apply skills so they don’t repeat the mistakes of past droughts, when they lost many animals to hunger and disease.

What Our donors Are Saying

After ten years of financial support, with countless follow-up reports, conversations, photos and video clips, we made a site visit to Water is Life Kenya's Amboseli operations in late November, 2018.  The visit - and our assessment of the organization - well exceeded our expectations.
                                       --  Mandy Cabot, owner, Dansko

A few years ago, a friend invited me to a church dinner where a Water is Life Kenya speaker gave a presentation.  It changed my life.  Intrigued, I wanted to know more.... I have since donated and visited Joyce in Kenya three times with my family.
