Oltukai Orok Women Livestock Keepers

This group is from Enkong’u Narok, also known as cultural village number 4 in Amboseli. Ol Tukai Orok means the black (or dark) palm trees, referring to trees that grow in Amboseli National Park and the group has 14 group members.  In their first year, Ol Tukai Orok bought 11 cattle for an average of $225 each and sold them for an average of $310.  After expenses, the group realized a 24% profit on their animals.

Eramatare Livestock Keepers

Eramatare is made of member from all around the Olchorro, Risa, Meshenani, Ilmarba, and Namelok who are connected by clan and wanted to improve their incomes by improving on traditional livestock keeping practices, in order to help them raise money for their children’s education. Eramatare is a subgroup that formed out of the larger welfare group of 60 members, intending that the smaller group learn and then pass on the info to the larger group.

What Our donors Are Saying

After ten years of financial support, with countless follow-up reports, conversations, photos and video clips, we made a site visit to Water is Life Kenya's Amboseli operations in late November, 2018.  The visit - and our assessment of the organization - well exceeded our expectations.
                                       --  Mandy Cabot, owner, Dansko

A few years ago, a friend invited me to a church dinner where a Water is Life Kenya speaker gave a presentation.  It changed my life.  Intrigued, I wanted to know more.... I have since donated and visited Joyce in Kenya three times with my family.
